Mel Gibson Uncast from the Hangover 2

After news about Mel Gibson having a cameo appearance on “The Hangover 2” due out in 2011, Director Todd Phillips issued a statement last week saying Mel Gibson will not appear in the movie as some of his cast did not agree with the casting call.  After everything Gibson has gone through it doesn’t really surprise me, he just needs to focus on getting his life together, if he can.  Check out the article in Entertainment Weekly or Enews.

I’m not surprised at all by this decision. After seeing all of the dram Mel Gibson caused this summer, I most definitely wouldn’t pay to see him in anything. Like you said, right now he needs to work on putting his life back together, if that’s possible. I’m even shocked that a sequel of this movie is coming out though. Can’t say I was very impressed or entertained by the first one. Goodie!

I heard about this. I’m actually a little bit disappointed; I was looking forward to Mel! Especially in that role.

Nevertheless, I will still watch this sequel with as much excitement as I did the first. I can’t wait!

Yikes! I didn’t even know Mel Gibson was supposed to be in the sequel. I’m kind of glad he isn’t. He probably would’ve ruined the humor for me.

This whole ordeal brings up the interesting point about how the personal lives of celebrities are often more scrutinized or publicized than their actual work. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an advocate for Mel Gibson, but in general, I don’t want to know when celebrities bought a new outfit or gave an unintelligent opinion about something, I really just want to see them act. I think America has become too celebrity obsessed in general.

That first sentence is really awkwardly written. 3/4
