Sotheby’s will be auctioning off Bob Dylan’s hand-written lyrics to the famous ballad “The Times They Are A-Changin” on Dec. 10.

The lyrics, which are written on nothing more than a discolored and smudged piece of paper, are expected to sell for $200,000 – $300,000. Ay Caramba.

Who the heck has that kind of expendable income?

Offer to the losing bidders: I will personally write down the lyrics to the song on a piece of looseleaf and sell them at the bargain price of $50,000 as a consolation.

I would also be more then willing to write my own lyrics as well for an even lower price of $1,000. It is amazing to think of all the people who would pay such a high price for a single piece of paper but they must look at it as art. There are many paintings that are sold for much higher prices at auction but they simply don’t get the attention like lyrics do.

I feel this should go in some kind of museum… that’d be a better use. OR I could take it.

I don’t get it. Is he famous for his lyrics or something?
