Would you want Danza as your teacher?

Actor and Boxer Tony Danza teaching 10th grade English?

Teach: Tony Danza is the new A&E series that premiered this month that depicts Danza teaching a high-school classroom in Pennsylvania.  Whether or not you  would want your kids being taught by Danza, this series is definitely getting a thumbs-up from the critics and worth checking out!

The first thing I though when I saw this was, who wouldn’t want to be taught by Tony Danza? He pretty much disappeared for years but I guess he’s back!

I would not want my kids to be taught by Danza. I can’t imagine my children getting that good of an education with all the cameras in the class. However not having children, I am totally going to watch this now.

I can’t picture him teaching, but I think it’s cool that he’s at least going to try. I might watch it!

Apparently, there’s no question of ‘Who’s the Boss’ in this series. My hub and I LOL-ed when we saw the preview for this. It doesn’t surprise me that A&E is trying their hand at another reality show starring a C-list (pushing D-list) celeb, and showing them in a completely different role than we are/were used to seeing them in. Steven Seagal in “Lawman” is brilliant! If I could hyper link it, I would. But Google the show if you haven’t seen it already. It’s worth the watch.

This just confirms the idea that celebrities(no matter what letter status they are) can practically do anything. From the sneak peak, it appears that the kids are not impressed by him anyway, so they won’t be distracted by his popularity, but just knowing that he is famous and the show is on television is ammunition for the kids to “show-off” and give him a hard time. Without them being rebellious there would be no show. It is basically just an addition to the list of “reality” television shows that can’t possibly be all that realistic.

LOL! I agree with Capricia; celebrities can do anything they want to. I don’t think kids will take him seriously in that environment, with all the cameras around. Plus, it’s a freakin Comedian teaching them. IDK, maybe I’ll watch just to see how serious of a reality TV show this really is.

I caught an episode the other day and thought it was admirable what Danza is trying to do. I think the school community needs to be more receptive to him though. It seems that they are being overly rude for television’s sake.

I just hope Danza still has hilarious segways into different topics as showcased on “The Soup” in a segment called “Danzitions.”

Wait, you’re right! It would have been nice to link to some to convince doubters like me. 4/4
