A good time before the movies?

Want to have a fun time picking out your next movie to see in theaters? Richard Roeper & The Movies report is not the basic review with some support from lines in the movie, instead it is an interactive experience for the viewer. Roeper does an excellent job in adding visual and audio support to his review of films. Roeper’s reviews have a very interesting tone because the movie’s music is added in support throughout his review. The audio and visual elements make the reviews into a mix of a movie trailer and well constructed critique. The quick two to three minute reports give the viewer a complete feel of what the film will entail. An example of his style is from the review of “Eat Pray Love” where Roeper says, “As when she is in India and she strikes up a friendship with a man from Texas,” and then is transitioned into an important scene with audio and visual support to shows the relationship among the characters. The overall review of the filming, writing, directing and the performing by the actors gives a clear and concise review of what the viewer can expect. The letter grades Roeper uses help to narrow the search knowing that the review comes from an experienced movie critic.

Some awkward writing. Look out for phrases like “An example of his style is…” which feels awfully clunky in the middle of a blog post. Not a lot of sense here of Roeper’s taste or what his reputation is in the critical world. 8/10
