They’ve taken what is, in my opinion, the best Bruce Springsteen album, thrown together nitty-gritty footage shot during the 1970s recording sessions and given me a new reason to look forward to the month of November.
The documentary, called The Promise: The Making of Darkness On The Edge of Town, has everything you could want out of a rockumentary: shirtless Springsteen rehearsals, concert footage and 21 song outtakes from the recording sessions.
What’s on Darkness on The Edge of Town you may ask? Check out the tasty title track:
And be sure to pick up a copy of The Boss’ film Nov. 16!

Also, I can’t wait to see what else we get with the “shirtless” tag
This sounds pretty cool. I love to watch documentaries so this will definitely be on my Netflix list when it comes out on DVD.
I am not the biggest Springsteen fan in the world, but I do respect his music and lyrics. I saw the trailer for this documentary on HBO and it actually looks very interesting. I am looking forward to seeing it.
I’m not a huge Springsteen fan either but I do like some of his 70s output. This will probably make for a cool doc.
