Ready for a Nirvana Reunion?

No, Kurt Cobain hasn’t been reincarnated, but it’s the closest thing possible: Dave Grohl announced on a BBC radio show that Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic will be making a guest appearance on the next Foo Fighters album. To further increase the Nirvana quotient, guitarist Pat Smear, who played with that band in its final shows, is on board, as is producer Butch Vig, who helmed “Nevermind.” Grohl recently posted a new picture of Vig, Novoselic and himself on Twitter.

I am all in! Loved Nirvana at in the day; still love them now. Thanks for the head’s up.

I love how excited Grohl is in the photo and how apprehensive Vig looks.

This should be interesting. The other two members played a bigger part in Nirvana’s sound as people seem to believe. I’m sure there will be a little more Nirvana in the new Foo Fighters music.

Now this has the potential to be pretty awesome, yes there’s no Cobain but at the same time, the music played by folks like Grohl and Novoselic helped make their sound the cornerstone of the grunge movement in the 90s. Still…I’d prefer to see Grohl play with the Foo Fighters in this area first. GET TO JIFFY LUBE LIVE!

I surely hope there’s a little more Nirvana in the new Foo Fighters material, they’ve been going downhill for years. I’m a big early Foo Fighters fan, but their last three singles as far as I’m concerned have been the same song.

Butch Vig looks terrifying in that photo 4/4
