Zack Synder to Direct “Superman” Remake

Warner Brothers is finally giving Superman another crack at a new movie franchise and they have chosen Zack Synder to direct it. Synder has already done two comic book movie adaptations with Frank Miller’s 300 and Alan Moore’s Watchmen. However, it will be interesting to see how Synder, who is famous for his violent movies, interprets the mythology of Superman.

The new Superman movie is also being produced by The Dark Knight‘s director Christopher Nolan. WB has also expressed interest in seeing Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm as the Man of Steel. However, Hamm has previously expressed that he has no interest in playing the Last Son of Krypton, “he’s invincible, so where’s the drama?”

Either way, I’m excited.

I’m excited about this too! I think Snyder is going to make a darker, more complex version of Superman, more like Watchmen. Should be interesting…

I am a huge “Mad Men” fan and would love to see Jon Hamm in more movie rolls.I have also read that Hamm has no interest in the role of Superman. I was surprised in my beat presentations that I forgot to mention Screen Rant as a website to check out. Check it out below, it relates to your post.

I can’t really see Hamm as Superman, but I think he’s way oversimplifying the role. Can’t wait to see him host SNL later this month; he’s the new Alec Baldwin.

I’m not gonna lie, Superman by the director of 300 sounds awesome. I feel like superman is not the extremely violent type, but maybe it will work.
