Interstitials- Scarface, a romantic comedy?

It is amazing how much free time some people have, but also important to mention how creative some people are at the same time.  I thought this was pretty silly but entertaining considering my beat is romantic comedies.

You know that basic premise of a romantic comedy where a gangster tries to find love might actually make for an interesting movie. At least it would be different from all the other romantic comedy movies where a business woman thinks she is too busy too find love or something like.

This is an absolute riot! What is really interesting to me, and the point I think this clip drives home, is the impact and importance of “the preview.” If I were a Scarface-virgin (aka- lived under a rock for the last 20 years), I would fully believe that this was a preview of a romantic comedy. I would sit down in the theater, with my greasy popcorn, over-sized soda, and legitimate expectations to laugh AND cry… a lot. And as we all know, I would have gotten the complete opposite experience.

That said, I’m glad Scarface wasn’t a romantic comedy. I like the coke-crazed, psychotic, bona-fide gangster Tony Montana.

    Great post!

I like this! But use your copy to introduce what it is you are actually linking to; that’s a lot more useful than just randomly talking about how people are creative. 3/4
